Human-centred design is at the core of my interest in design.
human-centred design
Within the sphere of human-centred design, I am particularly interest in…
design research and co-design
I have learned the significant role research plays in making design human-centric, making it an area that I find especially interesting. The act of listening to users to understand their needs is an invaluable method for effective design.
Taking this a step further, co-design not only asks designers to research the user’s needs, but to actually involve the user in the design process, which is key in human-centric design.
Activities in the areas of design research and co-design that I have been involved with include:
Design thinking workshops
User interviews
information design, storytelling, and data humanism
We come across information design every day. Whether it is a poster displaying an announcement or a website for an organization, how information is visually portrayed is of great interest to me.
Combining that with art-based methods, I have also become interested in data humanism, which involves turning data into visual and “human” stories.
Activities in the areas of information design and data humanism that I have been involved with include:
Website design
Communication and marketing collateral
Creation of art for the purpose of depicting data
I am always interested to learn about projects that involve design-related methodologies. If you would like to share your idea, please feel free to reach me at zeinab@elbarrad-design.com.
